Sun Dried Tomato Hummus
The answer is no – no I will never stop uploading different hummus recipes 😂And just to be extra presumptuous, no I will not stop throwing sun dried tomatoes in anything remotely edible either.
Sure, hummus is great, but adding a few extra goodies in there truly take it to new heights. To take regular hummus to such heights you’ll need:
- Sun Dried Tomatoes – Jarred ones (oil brings extra flavour)
- Basil – A few large fresh basil leaves really bring this hummus to life (they also make a nice garnish too 😁)
- Smoked Paprika – Goes gorgeously with this hummus, adds a nice smoky background flavour.
I promise this will make for the best sun dried tomato recipe you’ve ever tasted. An awesome crowd pleaser, but also cracking to spread in wraps and sandwiches!
Tips for the best Hummus
- Chickpea Brine – Keep the chickpea water to thin out the hummus as needed.
- Room Temp – Hummus should always be served at room temp, not straight from the fridge! I mean in my humble opinion of course…
- Smooth Hummus – Don’t be afraid to pulse the hummus for 5mins! I also use a spatula to scrape it a few times in between to get any lumpy bits hiding.
Can I make this ahead of time?
Sure! Just tightly cover and store in the fridge until needed, then bring to room temp again and serve. I don’t usually keep it longer than 2-3days in the fridge, but you can store longer at your discretion.
Can this be frozen?
Hummus is great for freezing! Just thaw in the fridge then bring to room temp to serve.
What to serve with hummus?
- Pita Chips
- Tortilla Chips
- Chicken Tenders
- Potato Wedges
- Peppers, Carrots or Veg of choice!
Or like I mentioned, this works great in wraps and sandwiches too!
