Notes

a) Hot Dogs - for the hot dogs themselves I recommend grilling both the sausage and the bun (even if the sausage is already cooked). The char adds extra flavour and firms up the bun. Here I've used brioche finger rolls, but any kind of hot dog bun works fine! If you don't have access to a BBQ just use a dry scorching hot griddle pan.
b) Nacho Dog - Any tortilla chip will do - even Doritos! If you don't want to make a cheese sauce you can sprinkle with cheese and broil under the grill. Feel free to add more of your favourite nacho toppings.
c) Cheeseburger Dog - If you're short on condiments you can make a 'cheats' burger sauce with equal parts ketchup, mayo and yellow mustard. Shredded lettuce also goes nicely in this hot dog!
d) Poutine Dog - Cheese curds are tricky to find in the UK, so feel free to just grated over some cheddar (or cheese of choice) instead. I recommend making a thick gravy here or the buns will go soggy.
e) BBQ Dog - If you want to make your own crispy onions I do this in my Thai Fried Chicken recipe. You could also sub the coleslaw with Apple Slaw.
f) Buffalo Dog - Instead of crumbled blue cheese you can take things up a notch with a Blue Cheese Sauce!
g) Breakfast Dog - Both omelette and fried egg works well here. You could also add/sub avocado & crispy potatoes.
h) Calories - average for one plain hot dog.
