Servings: 2 sandwiches
Cost: £3 / $4
- 4 relatively thick slices of Bread
- Butter, as needed
- 4 tbsp Ranch
- 150g / 5oz grated Cheese (see notes)
- 1 cup Leftover Turkey, or as needed
- 1 small Avocado, thinly sliced
- 6 slices of Streaky Bacon, cooked to preference
Place two slices of bread in the pan with the heat OFF. Spread with butter and flip.
Spread with ranch (don't go overboard or it'll soak into the bread), then place cheese, followed by turkey, avocado, bacon, more cheese and finish with another slice of bread.
Spread with ranch, flip, then spread with butter.
Turn the heat to medium and fry each side until golden brown, flipping carefully so the filling doesn't spill out. If the bread is particularly thick fry over a lower heat to ensure the cheese melts without the bread burning.
a) Leftover Turkey - I recommend using breast if you can. Here I slice, but you can also shred with two forks.
b) Turkey Sub - This grilled cheese work perfectly with chicken too! You can also use deli style chicken/turkey.
c) Cheese - I usually go for cheddar, but Swiss cheese also works great. To film I actually used equal parts cheddar, gruyere and mozzarella as that's what I had on hand. Any sort of melty cheese will work great though. I use around 150g/5oz but just use your best judgement based on the size of the sandwiches.
